On October 19, 2011, Training Outreach's President, Laura Johnson, participated in Capital Shield 2012, an interagency emergency management exercise conducted at Ft, McNair, District of Columbia, and Lorton, Virginia. Through her work with Montgomery County CERT, Ms. Johnson served as a responder for triage drills, stretcher operations, command and control integration, and communication exercises with various federal and state agencies.  With her team, Ms. Johnson was able to help showcase the Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region's (JFHQ-NCR) unique capabilities including how they work jointly with their partners as a collaborative team in a contingency environment, across a full spectrum of assigned missions.

On October 14, 2011, Training Outreach won a contract to provide professional grant application services for the Border Patrol Foundation. Training Outreach will assist BPF with developing a memorial fund providing financial resources to the immediate families of fallen border patrol agents.

June 27, 2011,
Training Outreach announced today it was certified by the Maryland Department of Transportation as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).

March 15, 2011,
Training Outreach announced it won a contract to provide website design services and content management for the Border Patrol Foundation, and will assist the Foundation with overall branding. The Foundation's mission to provide emergency assistance to the families of the fallen has been expanded this year to also provide national educational and awareness opportunities. "Ms. Johnson's involvement and organizational skills have assisted in our reaching a new level of influence in a relatively short period of time," says Pat Wilder, Executive Director, Border Patrol Foundation.

Laura Johnson, President & CEO of Training Outreach, became certified as a Montgomery County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Member. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area. Ms. Johnson was trained in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search andot immediately available to help. Ms. Johnson also supports the Montgomery County Police and other local emergency response agencies by volunteering and taking an active role in emergency preparedness projects in her community. rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, Ms. Johnson can assist others in her neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not available.
